These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of this website and the products and tools offered through it, including the free case check and the paid "Get My Security Deposit Back" guide (collectively, the "Services"). The Services are operated by Empowerment Media, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Maine limited liability company. By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Not legal advice

The Services provide general legal information and document-preparation support only. They do not constitute legal advice, do not create an attorney–client relationship, and are not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. We are not a law firm and are not your attorney. Laws vary by state and locality and change over time. You are solely responsible for deciding whether and how to pursue any claim.

2. No guarantee of results

We do not guarantee that you will recover your security deposit, obtain a judgment, win any case, or collect any money. Outcomes depend on the facts, evidence, applicable law, the court, and the conduct of other parties — all of which are outside our control.

3. The free case check

The free case check is an informational tool that uses artificial intelligence to provide a general, non-binding signal about the apparent strength of a security deposit situation based on the answers you provide and publicly available information. Its output may contain errors or omissions and should not be relied upon as a definitive evaluation. See our Privacy Policy for how information you enter is processed.

4. The paid guide

The paid guide is a digital product delivered through our third-party sales platform. It is designed to be used with third-party AI assistants (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini), which are governed by their own terms and may require a separate paid subscription. Any guarantee or refund offer associated with the guide is described at the point of sale and is subject to the conditions stated there.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Services, including by attempting to disrupt them, accessing them through automated means except as permitted, or using them for any unlawful purpose.

6. Intellectual property

The content, design, and materials of the Services are owned by Empowerment Media, LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. You may not reproduce or redistribute them except as expressly permitted.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Empowerment Media, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or related to your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, for the product giving rise to the claim.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
